小田急小田原線柿生駅から10分ほど歩くと、裏山を配した緑の木立の中にひっそりとした佇まいの「浄慶寺」があります。
After walking about 10 minutes from Kakio Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line, you will find yourself in a green grove with a mountain behind There is a quiet appearance of “Jokeiji Temple”.
一見、大きな民家かと見紛うような穏やかな雰囲気の建物でおよそ寺院・仏閣などという厳つい名称の似あわない「お寺さん」です。
At first glance, it is a building with a calm atmosphere that makes you think it is a big private house
It is “temple” which does not resemble the exact names of temples and temples.
ここは、元和元年（1615年）に上麻生村の領主三井氏によって創建された浄土宗の古刹
山号を「麻生山」、寺号を「寿光院浄慶寺」と称する尼寺です。
This is the ancient temple of the Jodo sect built in 1615 by Lord Mitsui of Kami Asao Village
The name of the temple is “Asaosan” and the temple is “Jyukouin Jokeiji”.
徳川家康の実母の菩提寺である東京小石川の尼寺「傳通院」から
代々尼僧が派遣され、この寺を守ってきました。
A nun has been dispatched from generations of “Dentsuin” in Koishikawa, Tokyo, the buddhism temple of Ieyasu Tokugawa’s mother, to protect the temple.
境内に置かれた一対の狛犬は、この伝通院から移されたもので見るからに優しげで愛くるしいこの表情と姿形は、この静謐な寺の印象を象徴しているかのようです。
A pair of guardian dogs placed on the precincts are transferred from this hospital, and they look gentle and cute, and their expressions and shapes seem to symbolize the impression of this serene temple.
ライオンを基に形象化したこの狛犬〈高麗犬〉は、朝鮮の高麗（こうらい）から渡来したもので、魔除けの効があり、元来、左に獅子像、右に狛犬と一対で並び置かれましたが、時代とともに両者の差がなくなり左右ともに獅子像になったということです。
This komainu (Koryo dog), which has been symbolized based on a lion, comes from Korea’s Koryo and has the effect of amulet protection. Originally, it is a pair of a lion statue on the left and a pair of komainu on the right. It was placed, but with the times, the difference between the two disappeared and both sides became lion statues.
この境内には、たくさんの「羅漢像」が置かれており、それぞれ好きな遊びに興じたり、酒を酌み交わしたり、楽器を奏でたり、驚いたことにパソコンを操作している新時代の頭脳派もいたり・・・なんとも楽しそうな様子にさそわれて、ついつい笑みがこぼれてしまう…そんな空間が創出されています。

そのユーモラスな表情やいまにも動き出しそうな仕草がとてもリアルで、どこか友人・知人らのそれと重なって、懐かしさやら親しみやらを感じることもしばしばの対面でした。
The humorous expression and the gesture that seems to start moving are very real, somewhere I often met with friends and acquaintances and felt nostalgia and friendliness.
参詣者にくつろいでもらうために、この境内を安らぎの場へと昇華させていこうとする住職の心遣いが、多くの人々を招き寄せているのでしょう。
Perhaps the priests’ attention to sublimate this precinct to a place of relaxation to attract pilgrims has attracted many people.
ここはまた、「あじさい寺」という愛称で
地元の人々に親しまれている麻生区の紫陽花の名所でもあります。
It is also a famous hydrangea spot in Asao Ward, nicknamed “hydrangea temple”, which is popular with locals.
昭和42年（1967年）から檀家の協力で植樹しはじめ、今では3,000本ともいわれるガクアジサイ・ヤマアジサイ・西洋アジサイの花々が、旧津久井道から参道、境内、裏山へと広がり群生している見事さは圧巻との評判です。
Trees began to be planted in 1967 with the cooperation of the Danke family, and now 3,000 flowers of gaku hydrangea, yama hydrangea, and western hydrangea have spread from the old Tsukui road to the approach, the precincts, and the back mountain. Sassa is a reputation as a masterpiece.
毎年6月中旬に「あじさい祭り」が開催されますが、公表はしないため人混みに悩まされることなく、マイペースで鑑賞できるありがたさもあり、知る人ぞ知る紫陽花のメッカといえましょう。
The “hydrangea festival” is held in mid-June every year, but since it will not be announced, there is no need to worry about crowds and it is appreciated that it can be enjoyed at your own pace.

季節を彩る草木も多く、「神奈川の花の名所100選」に選ばれています。
